It is with great
pleasure that we announce the 26th Global Conference on Environmental
Taxation (GCET26), to be hosted by the Federal University of Rio Grande
do Sul Law School, in collaboration with the Federal University of Ceará,
from 24 to 26 September 2025, in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
The GCET provides an
exceptional international and interdisciplinary platform to explore pressing
issues related to the design and implementation of public policies on environmental
taxation. The conference also fosters a rich environment for academic exchange
and collaboration among scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from around

additional time for interested participants to prepare and submit their

🏅 Kreiser Award for Environmental Taxation
The Kreiser Award is a
distinguished annual honor presented to an individual who has made a
significant contribution to the advancement of environmental taxation or the
use of economic instruments in research or policy.
Each year, the recipient
is selected by the Chair of that year's Global Conference on Environmental
Taxation.
The award is named in
recognition of Professor Larry Kreiser, Professor Emeritus of Accounting and
former Chairperson of the Department of Accounting at Cleveland State
University, Ohio, USA. Professor Kreiser was the visionary behind the creation
of this international conference series. He brought together experts from
various disciplines to form a global forum for exchanging cutting-edge research
and experience in environmental taxation. The first GCET was held in Cleveland,
Ohio, in 2000, thanks to his initiative and leadership.
For many years,
Professor Kreiser also served as the Chief Editor of the Critical Issues in
Environmental Taxation series, published annually by Edward Elgar.
Please note: The Kreiser Award is
not open for direct submissions and will be chosen by this Year’s CGET
organizing Committee.
